A Burghley Christmas

The Burghley Christmas Fair and Fine Food Market is back for 2019 – and this time it’s bigger and better than ever!

The popular market at Burghley, on the edge of the Georgian stone town of Stamford, has become a firm favourite with visitors. Taking place over four days (from 28th November to 1st December) it is also working in association with The Angel Fair to raise money for the Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice.

With a refreshed and expanded layout hosting around 150 exhibitors, you’ll find a huge range of the very best seasonal gifts and fine food on offer. There are even more stalls and chalets to discover, and a new larger heated marquee with its wide range of stands providing everything from fashion and luxury gifts, to cashmere and jewellery, as well as stocking-fillers and decorations.

Alongside the new marquee, packed with Christmas ideas, there will also be additional seasonally decorated log-cabin chalets too. The Fine Food Market will once again run alongside the Fair, featuring around 50 stalls. Expect the finest fresh local produce to get you in the festive mood, from wine and spirits to pies, cake and more – perfect for your table this Christmas.

There’s still more seasonal shopping to look forward to as well. Burghley’s popular pop-up Christmas Shop will be open during the event, as will the beautiful Courtyard Shop, while Burghley’s Orangery Restaurant – housed in a building that provided space for the family’s love of horticulture and designed by Capability Brown – has festive menus on offer, including an unmissable Christmas Afternoon Tea.

Entry to the Christmas Fair and Fine Food Market is free. There will be a parking charge of £10 per car. The House and Gardens are closed for winter, but Burghley’s parkland, with its resident herd of deer, remains open with free entry right through the year (apart from special event days) – just what’s needed for a refreshing winter walk.
