As well as an outdoor tiki bar, last summer saw the opening of Olive Grove Nurseries’ coffee shop and its very own gelateria – an authentic Italian ice creamery where visitors can enjoy refreshments and an indulgent treat. This has proved such a hit with visitors that an Italian-themed delicatessen soon followed.

Here you have the chance to browse through a range of delicious treats to take home and create your own sunny feast. There’s something rather special about whiling away a day at the nursery. Weekends often see impromptu live musicsuch as jazz to unwind to. This summer Tim and Jackie are bringing some Spanish vibrancy courtesy of one of their staff members who happens to be an accomplished Flamenco guitarist.

The couple have also confirmed their involvement in the Peterborough Heritage Festival where they will be involved as one of the many fringe events. The fringe element of the festival runs from 15-30 June.

Indoor style

The newest venture at Olive Grove Nurseries is a home interiors section. Just like the head-turning specimens to be found outside, this collection of objects for the home is far from ordinary, featuring an eclectic mix of unusual pieces sourced from around the globe. With their quirky, eye-catching appeal, many of these items are pieces you would struggle to find elsewhere.

The home interiors area is where you can pick up handsome carved kitchenware, basketry, antiqued wares, or perhaps a piece of artwork or a desirable objets d’art. Take your time as you enjoy the collection on display and be prepared to be tempted by the many items on offer.

With so much to see on site it’s no wonder that in the brief time Olive Grove Nurseries has been open it’s become a local hotspot for lovers of architectural and showpiece plants, while foodies with a taste for the good things in life and those seeking something out of the ordinary won’t be left wanting. The nursery is open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10am to 5pm and on Sundays and bank holidays from 11am to 4pm. Earlier and later openings can be arranged by appointment.
