Will works across the country as a consultant and guest conductor specialising in developing choirs, and in Peterborough he is currently leading the Arts Council funded Sing! initiative to develop vocal provision in the city’s schools.

‘We’re looking for women from all walks of life – it doesn’t matter if your previous singing experience has only been in the bath’

‘I highly recommend Sing for Life,’ says Will. ‘Singing is such a life-affirming activity, and to come together for such a fantastic cause creates a real buzz. We’re looking for women from all walks of life. It doesn’t matter if your previous singing experience has only been in the bath, come along and have a go! We’ve got a fantastic team of professional vocal coaches and mentors who will have you feeling confident in no time.’

Joining couldn’t be easier, with recruitment events in the city centre on Saturday, 31 May (12.30pm-2.30pm) and Saturday, 7 June (12.30pm-2.30pm) and introduction sessions at St. Mary’s Church, New Road, Peterborough, PE1 1TT on Friday, 13 June (7.00-9.00pm) and Saturday, 14 June (10.30am – 12.30pm).

‘I joined Sing for Life because I love singing but never really had a great deal of confidence in my abilities’ says Alison Branston, another of the original Sing for Life women. ‘I had always wanted to sing but just not been brave enough. Now, I can’t get enough – I love it! It’s terrifying, but in a good way – I just feel the fear and do it anyway!’ Sue Pearce agrees: ‘Joining Sing for Life is one of the best things I have ever done. EVERYTHING about it has brought renewed joy and happiness into my life.’

Sign up today, it’ll be one of the best things you do this year; perhaps one of the best things you ever do. After all, 200 women can’t be wrong…
