Fun in the sun at Peterborough Lido

Relax on our sunbathing terraces, enjoy three heated outdoor pools and have a bite to eat in our new café when The Peterborough Lido opens its doors on Saturday 25 May in time for the spring half term holidays.

Please note that the lido is now closed for 2013. Looking forward to summer 2014!

The historic Lido, first opened in 1936 by then Mayor of Peterborough Councillor Arthur Mellows, recently underwent some new renovations, including a new onsite café. There are also three heated outdoor pools to choose from, including a large pool, a learner pool and a paddling pool for toddlers. The pools feature non-slip surfaces, improved lighting, hot showers and new changing room cubicles.

The Lido was originally created to tap into the huge boom in popularity of outdoor swimming complexes with the introduction of paid holidays. With the pools providing the perfect way to boost health and offer family entertainment, it’s no surprise the local attraction received a massive 15,000 visitors last year.

Having the perfect family day out couldn’t be easier this year, as the Lido will be hosting some family fun sessions this summer, with plenty of bouncy water inflatables! So whether you want to sunbathe, enjoy the view from the balcony terraces, or have a picnic, see why the Lido is one of the city’s most popular attractions.

Never been to the Lido before? Why not join us at 10am on the opening day for a FREE swim, the perfect way to celebrate the longer and hopefully warmer days!

Prices to swim at the Lido are £4.70 for adults and £3 for children. For Vivacity Card Holders prices will be £4.20, whilst for Vivacity Sports Card Pass Holders entry costs £3.90. The Lido is also FREE to Vivacity gym members, who can swim for free as part of their gym membership, as are the Regional and Jack Hunt swimming pools.

Opening times are Monday – Saturday between 9am and 6pm, and 7.30am – 6pm on Sundays. In July and August, the hours will be extended to 8pm. The Peterborough Lido will be open all summer up to and including 1 September.
