Local Merchant wins California wines competition

Amps Fine Wines is celebrating after beating over 550 UK wine merchants to the title of “Best Independent California Wine Retailer in the UK” in a highly coveted competition run by Californian Wines and Off Licence News

Amps Fine Wines, based in Oundle, were one of four shortlisted independent wine merchants that were flown out to The Golden State of California in July to meet the producers behind some iconic brands and experience the wines for themselves. On their return each finalist put together an in-store promotion championing California wines aided by a state-of- the-art Enomatic tasting machine.

Judges felt that Amps Fine Wines had created the most impressive, innovative and creative promotional campaign and crowned them the winner.

In addition to the title and trophy, Amps Fine Wines were presented with the Enomatic tasting machine. This will enable them to guarantee that a wide range of wines will be available to taste every day in their shop based in the centre of Oundle. The wine sampling machine holds eight wines that are dispensed in perfect condition at their optimum temperatures.
