Support at home with LifeLine
Simple, discreet, 24/7 support at home, CKH LifeLine is there when you need it. LifeLine Manager at Cross Keys Homes, Jane Alexander, explains the service and the difference the personal alarm service makes to people of all ages and ability
How would you describe the service LifeLine offers?
We offer a personal alarm service which supports you to live life the way you want to in your own home. We provide a hub that plugs into a phone line and electronic pendants that at a single touch let you talk to someone in our control centre. We have a fantastic team of highly-trained operators who are available around the clock, every day of the year. What we really offer is peace of mind. We like to call it your personal emergency service, because with one touch we can make sure you get the help you need.
What’s it like to wear and use a LifeLine?
The LifeLine buttons themselves are really unobtrusive and easy to wear, you can choose to wear them as a pendant around your neck or on a simple wrist strap, like a watch. They are designed to be worn all the time, day and night, including in the shower or bath. A lot of people want to treat them like jewellery and take them off before they go to bed, but it’s best to wear them all the time, that way you can contact us, no matter what you’re doing.
How does the LifeLine service keep friends and family up to date?
Whenever anyone registers for a LifeLine, we ask for contact details for friends and family members. At the first sign of an alarm being triggered, we’ll notify anyone listed as an emergency contact of what’s happened and the steps we’ve taken. So there are no surprises along the way. We have so many family members tell us what a difference it makes knowing their loved one can easily reach help.
Can you offer additional support?
LifeLine starts with a pendant but we have a whole host of technology for your home to support with different needs. For instance, our smoke alarms which immediately alert our control centre if they detect smoke, or our falls sensor which will prompt us to make contact if we think someone may have fallen. We’re happy to talk to you about your specific needs and how we can support your independence, just give us a call to find out more.
