Travels with my aunt

Mon 16th July 2012 - Tue 17th July 2012 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Tabs Productions, last seen at the Key with The Graduate, Raining Men and Dirty Dusting are back with with Giles Havergal’s sparkling adaptation of Graham Greene’s classic novel.

With more plot twists than the Da Vinci Code, Travels with my Aunt takes us on a journey from sleepy suburban England to the badlands of Paraguay by way of the orient Express.

Henry Pulling, retired bank manager, is reunited with Aunt Augusta at his mother’s funeral, it is 50 years since they last met. He has filled those years tending his beloved dahlias whilst Augusta has travelled in the fast lane. Seeking to broaden her nephew’s horizons, she proposes a holiday. Henry, still clutching his Mother’s ashes, stares in disbelief but there’s no time for feeble excuses, her plans are made.

These two unlikely companions travel far and wide on a roller coaster ride of sex, drugs and sausage rolls – not to mention assorted policemen, the CIA, gypsy fortune tellers, spies, smugglers, war criminals, a love lorn African man servant, exotic dancers, Italians disguised as the Pope and a particularly over excitable Irish Wolfhound.

Hold on to your hats, it’s going to be bumpy ride!

There is one performance on Monday 16th July at 7.30pm. Then two performances on Tuesday 17th July at 2.30pm and then 7.30pm.

Tickets cost between £12 and £16 depending on the performance.
