Stephen McDonald’s acclaimed play focuses on two of the most acclaimed war poets, Wilfred Owen and Siegfried Sassoon, who were united by their friendship, their words and their experiences until Wilfred was killed in France on 4 November 1918, exactly a week before the signing of the armistice that ended World War One. The relationship between the two men is explored through their letters and poetry, creating a vivid and moving picture of their bond and the conflict that threw them together and inspired such great literature from them both.
