Literature at Lunchtime: Julius Caesar

Our annual lecture in support of Tolethorpe Theatre. First performed 4 years before the death of Elizabeth l, this is Shakespeare’s great tragedy of the Roman whose success bred envy and assassination. A play about hubris and the dangers of thinking oneself invincible.
