What's On

LGBT Britain on Film

Fri 5th July 2019 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

LGBT Britain on Film is a collection of archive material, documenting shifting attitudes to LGBT people via decades of profoundly courageous activism.
With films spanning from 1909 to 1994, LGBT Britain on Film is a collection documenting a century in which homosexuality went from crime to Pride, throughout a time of explosive social change.

Cine-Sister puts on film screenings and workshops and aims to give a voice and a platform to a diverse range of people with amazing stories to tell.

It’s a moving and fascinating collection, a social document encompassing both the collective public fight for basic rights and equality and more personal, intimate and psychological ones …

The shedding of shame and the ability to be open about one’s most private self; the claiming of the right to love and to say publicly, proudly: this is who I am.

This is a collaboration between Cine-Sister and Vivacity Museum for Peterborough Pride.

Tickets are free but we would welcome any donations on the door to recover costs. All profits will be given to an LGBT+ charity (specific charity TBC)
