Huntingdon Autumn Foraging Course

Sat 20th October 2018 12:00 pm - 3:30 pm

This course is a simple foraging walk where we will identify a number of edible and poisonous wild mushrooms, fruits and plants. The Brampton Mill is a beautiful riverside pub along the River Great Ouse. The course starts there with a 20 minute introduction on how to forage safely and sustainably, and a brief of the general countryside codes where they relate to foragers. After the talk we’ll set off for a 2-3 hour walk identifying the different edible and poisonous plants, fruits and mushrooms that we find. We will finish the day off with a light wild food lunch based on tasty treats made from our recent finds, a wild salad that we will pick on the day and hopefully some creamy wild mushrooms. Ideal for both the total novice and the intermediate forager looking to improve their knowledge, it is also an ideal family outing!
