Art and Science Collide: Immune Response by M+R

Fri 27th September 2019 6:00 pm

What do our cells sound like? How do they communicate and co-operate with each other for our bodies to function properly? Experience our immersive and interactive sound installation, LifeLab LOUD, which will explore these questions and more. Join critically acclaimed, artistic duo, M+R – Neil Musson and Jono Retallick for ‘Immune Response’, a new interactive performance staged in the Key Theatre, Peterborough. The artists have closely observed scientists at the Babraham Institute and created an artwork which reinterprets the lab as a representation of signalling within and between cells. Visitors will complete the installation by sending sounds of research equipment and the voices of scientists from one part of the room to another. These messages will travel via the artists in the centre of the installation and mirror communication through cell membranes. Includes a discussion with the artists and scientists over refreshments (which will be provided).
