It’s spooky time
The nights are drawing in and the temperatures are falling; festival marquees and pop-up outdoor cinema screens are being packed away for another year. The season of the Peterborough ghost walk is now upon us… Take to the (allegedly) haunted streets, and find out more about the fascinating spooks and spectres who share our city.

Good company
In an era of crushing, chronic loneliness for so many, this games morning at the Iqbal Centre is both a wonderful idea and a lifeline. Simply bring a board game to play, grab a hot drink – and start making new friends. Sessions last two hours and take place every Thursday.

Silver harp

Under his eye
For Margaret Atwood fans old and new, this promises to be a very special event: the launch of The Testaments, her much-anticipated sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale. Live from London, the Canadian author will take questions via satellite link-up, and welcome special guests.

Gorgeous Georgians
Stamford is a picture-perfect town that owes its good looks almost entirely to the architects and builders of the Georgian era. It celebrates this every year with a varied, fun and hands-on festival involving performances, food, talks – and lots and lots of bonnets.
