An amazing story
With the new film 12 Years A Slave providing ample inspiration, it’s well worth delving further into that period in history to find out more about the struggle of those enslaved. This play explores the story of John Newton, and proves both fascinating and uplifting: Newton worked for many years on ships connected with the slave trade – then became a passionate advocate of the abolition of slavery, writing the hymn Amazing Grace in the process.

Track them down
I might be wrong, but I could swear that I felt spring in the air the other day. So, it’s almost certainly time to drag the kids from in front of the Xbox and Despicable Me on a loop and get them out and about in the fresh air, with this fun event – identifying animal tracks – which everyone in the family can enjoy. To attend is free but booking is required. Places can be booked by calling Nene Park Trust on 01733 234193.
