Make the most of Halloween this year with the very best ghost walks in Peterborough and the region…

Peterborough Museum Candlelit Ghost Tour
I don’t think the guys at Peterborough Museum have romance on their minds – this is candlelight of the strictly spooky kind, aimed at creating the best kind of atmosphere for ‘honest, it’s true!’ ghost stories about the city’s most haunted building. Tickets for the tour are £5 for adults, £3 for children/concessions. Due to limited places, tickets are strictly pre-booked only. Tours last about 90 minutes. The tour is not recommended for young children or those of a nervous disposition, and due to the nature of the building is unsuitable for those with mobility impairments. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. For accompanied children, parental discretion is advised (recommendation: no younger than eight to 10, due to the dark and scary stories).
Second and last Tuesday of the month, November to May, 7.30 pm

Pretty much the Rolls-Royce of ghost tours, and strictly one for the grown-ups. Then take the opportunity to join in with a real ‘live’ ghost hunt till 4 am – if you dare! Strictly over 18s only. Pre-booking is essential. £25 per person.

Burghley House Spooky Tours
If an historic stately home like Burghley isn’t crammed to the rafters with ghouls and ghosts, then I don’t know where would be! Take the tour to see lesser-visited areas (which also happen to be incredibly creepy) such as the cloisters, cellars and dairy. Tours run every hour from 6.30 to 9.30 pm, with the earliest most suitable for families. The later the tour, the spookier it gets! Sensible footwear required, but no need to bring a torch.
Tours are running now until Friday, 2 November, every hour 6.30 to 9.30 pm
Burghley House, Stamford
