The Tina May Quartet comes to Peterborough

Peterborough Jazz Club are delighted to announce – for their special Christmas concert – The Tina May Quartet, featuring Nicki Iles and Jean Toussaint

Tina is considered one of the finest jazz vocalists in the UK. She has superb tonal range, faultless diction and remains the most expressive and technically gifted jazz singer on the UK scene. Nicki Iles has been the first call pianist for Tina May over many years, and they have a rapport that takes them far beyond mere voice-plus-accompaniment: a distinctive atmosphere surrounds everything they do together. They are joined for tonight’s showcase concert by brilliant American saxophonist Jean Toussaint, who became internationally known when he joined Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers in 1982, together with the superb Mark Hodgson on double bass, and top drummer Steve Keogh.

Book your tickets early for this concert, as demand is expected to be high!
