Peterborough Jazz Club are delighted to present, for the first time at the Club, an evening of Gypsy Swing, otherwise known in France as Jazz Manouche. This genre was created by the genius Gypsy guitar master Django Reinhardt and characterised the Hot Club era of Paris in the 1930s.
This heart pumping, atmospheric music is currently experiencing a tidal wave of resurgence throughout Europe and the States, as it’s rediscovered by young musicians and the public alike. The musicians are all regular members of the superb house band at Le QuecumBar, a unique 1930s Parisien-style live music brasserie in London, specialising in promoting Gypsy Swing and those who perform it.
Tickets £13 at the door.
