What are you postponing happiness for, asks therapist and life coach Susie Munns?
So many of us put happiness on hold whilst we strive to reach the next goal: I will be happy if I can just get that job, I will be happy when I lose the weight, I will be happy when I am in the perfect relationship. The truth is we do not need to wait for anything to be happy; happiness is a journey, not a destination.
Ask yourself this – what is stopping me from being happy right now? Why can’t you enjoy life and be happy on the way to achieving what you want? I am here to tell you, you are far more likely to reach your potential and/or meet the right person if you are journeying at a higher vibration in a state of happiness.
A good place to start is to break your life goals (wants/desires) down into bite size chunks and to celebrate your achievements along the way, not only will this make you feel better about yourself, it will make your goals feel less overwhelming and more achievable. There will be elements of your life that you are already happy with – recognise those, make a list of 10 things that you are thankful for right now.
Be present and enjoy those things. While you are constantly chasing the next thing you are not allowing yourself to enjoy what you already have. Get in touch to find out how to recognise what is blocking you from achieving your goals, shift your fears and reach your full potential.
