‘Some electric cars aren’t the best looking vehicles and a lot of them are little tiny, sort of runaround vehicles. But the Volt is a stunning-looking car and a practical car. It’s built to a very high spec with a leather interior, four family-sized seats and a decent sized boot. We’ve had so many people walk into the showroom who are attracted just by the look of the car, before even realising that it’s an electric vehicle.’

‘It’s also a really comfortable car to drive. People are generally surprised by the performance of the car and how quiet it is. It’s just such a different driving experience to pull away silently. I think people also expect an electric car to be quite slow, but it’s got very good acceleration – nearly instant torque means you can go from 0-62 mph in just nine seconds. Everyone that’s driven it has been really impressed!’
