Here is a quick and easy step-by-step guide on how to take the root cutting of mint
Only take the healthiest, fattest roots from an established mint plant. Cut away 10cm lengths using a clean, sharp knife
Lay the pieces of root lengthways across the top of a pot of multipurpose compost before covering them lightly with more compost. Water gently
Place the potted root cuttings onto a warm windowsill and keep the compost slightly moist. Shoots will appear within a matter of weeks
