Maincrop potatoes form the mainstay of the winter larder. Kept in cool, dark, frost-free conditions the longest-storing varieties will keep well into the following year
Allow the potatoes to fully mature before lifting them. Lift the tubers carefully, taking care not to spear any with the tines of your fork
Leave the potatoes to dry on the ground for a few hours then brush away any dirt with a soft brush. Pic Credit to Vidy
The spuds will keep well in dark hessian sacks. Store only tubers that are firm to the touch and raise your spuds off the ground
