That’s Entertainment!
The stars are coming out to play this autumn at The Cresset Theatre.
It’s going to be a blockbuster autumn at The Cresset Theatre, with big names in comedy, music, dance, and entertainment all lined up to entertain you.
Side-splitting stand-up shows include huge names like Jack Dee, Jimmy Carr, Russell Kane, Chris McCausland, Frankie Allen, and Gary Delaney.
Other hilarious shows in the autumn programme include the adult pantomime Sinderella, a comic perspective on parenting in Mum’s the Word, and the brilliant Sh*t-Faced Shakespeare Crew performing Macbeth. There really is something to make everyone laugh. Peterborough’s longest-running Comedy Club returns in September too, with limited availability, so book your tickets fast.
There’s a fantastic season of music coming up too. Not only are there some top-notch tribute acts both returning and debuting – including Be-Bop-A-Lula, You Win Again, Endless Love and Fleetwood Machine, to name just a few, but there’s some incredible original artists on the bill too, including soul legends The Real Thing, Eighties icon Howard Jones, The Sensational 60s Experience, and the stars of the hit movie – with a sequel on the way – the Fisherman’s Friends!
As always, there’s a truly eclectic mix of entertainment on offer, so if you’re looking for something a bit different, look no further. Whether it’s the Forbidden Nights Sexy Circus, our popular 80s party night, Peterborough’s first Crazy Bingo Party, or Psychology of Serial Killers with Jennifer Rees (a fascinating deep-dive into the phenomenon of serial homicide) there’s always something happening at The Cresset!
Looking ahead to Christmas, The Cresset will once again be hosting Christmas party nights for groups, both large and small, looking to celebrate the festive season. Christmas dinner, live entertainment, and a great party vibe is on the menu, so do contact the events team if you’re wondering where to take the gang this December ().
Of course, it wouldn’t be Christmas without Pantomime! Peter Pan flies into The Cresset from December 15 to December 31, and while we’ll have more details on this magical production in the next issue, for now we’re delighted to welcome the returning Kevin Kennedy as Captain Hook. Best known as Coronation Street legend Curly Watts, Kevin is a prolific stage performer, and is currently touring the UK in Rock of Ages. For the chance to perform on stage with Kevin, and the rest of the professional cast, check out the Open Auditions for Peter Pan which take place on September 3 and 4. The Cresset is looking for young performers aged 8+ (who can act, sing, and dance) to join the panto company. Get more info and register online at cresset.co.uk/pantomime.
