Takeaway Theatre

With the Undercroft currently closed Eastern Angles and the Undercroft residents have had to get creative, and boy have they risen to the challenge bringing you a virtual offer which covers everything from theatre performance and writing to doodling and drawing all delivered live and direct to your home

Come to Where I Am
Eastern Angles in partnership with Paines Plough are delighted to be launching Come to Where I am. They will co-commission four new short plays from writers from Peterborough about the places they call home and their relationships to them right now. These will be recorded first and released as visual-audio pieces and then performed at the Undercroft at some point in the future when the venue has reopened. All of these new plays will be made available online on 10th June and, for groups who may find it more difficult or even impossible to access digital content, a unique live performance of the plays will be created over the phone, allowing isolated audience groups to access on-demand culture. Paines Plough and Eastern Angles are working in collaboration with some celebrated actors to provide this caller service including David Bradley, Julie Hesmondhalgh and Sally Dynevor – with more still to be announced.

Come to Where I Am is a nation wide project with a total of 28 plays being co-commissioned, other partnerships include Pitlochry Festival Theatre, Open Clasp Theatre Company Newcastle, Reading Rep, Sheffield Theatres, Derby Theatre and Theatre by the Lake Keswick. In addition Eastern Angles are also offering a series of online offers from playwriting sessions to a Lab Series featuring masterclasses from writers and other industry professionals. Head over to their website: easternangles.co.uk to find out more.

The art workshops are broadcast live four times a week so you can chat with Korp while learning.
