Pboro Celebrates: Light the lights!

The switching on of the city's spectacular Christmas lights signals the start of the festive season - and this year there's not just one switch-on, but two!

City Centre Christmas lights switch-on

The traditional Christmas lights switch-on takes place on a Friday 16 November. There will be on-stage entertainment in Cathedral Square, starting at 4pm, with performances by local acts. The lights will be switched on at 7.30pm by Father Christmas and the Mayor and Leader of the Council, and will be followed by a burst of fireworks. Don’t miss it!

City Market lights switch-on and Christmas Fayre

The city’s second switch-on will be on the following Friday, 23 November, where the Mayor will again be doing the honours. Taking place at the City Market, it will also feature the market’a first ever Christmas Fayre. There will be Christmas food from a variety of traders, live music and choirs, mulled wine, chocolates, crafts, mead, and much more – and a few surprises are also promised!
