Walk and picnic at Riverford farm
Riverford organic farm just outside Peterborough is holding a series of farm walks throughout the summer months
The events are being held between 5pm and 7.30pm on the last Wednesday of the month until September:
· 29th July (sold out)
· 26th August
· 30th September
A stroll around the farm will be followed by a Riverford picnic of pies, soups and salads. Tickets cost £6 per person.
James Negus from Riverford’s local farm explains, “Our lovely organic farm is a hive of activity over the summer months as we plant crops, pick fruit, and sow seeds, so there’s lots of see, touch and taste. Each week we deliver boxes of organic veg and other produce to homes across Peterborough, so we thought we’d throw open the farm gates and invite people in to see what we do for themselves.”
There won’t be any transport along the route so before booking make sure all of your party, including children, will be able to complete the walk. Wear suitable footwear (wellies are advised) and bring an extra layer as it can get a little chilly. Unfortunately, dogs can’t join the walk this time.
