17 March 2020: in light of latest government guidance on COVID-19, the venue is working to reschedule events
Following the Government advice in relation to COVID-19 issued on Monday 16 March recommending that the public avoid all non-essential social gatherings, The Cresset has taken the difficult decision to cancel all scheduled performances and public events up until 26 April 2020.
Where possible, performances will be rescheduled. Ticket holders will be contacted directly over the coming days with further details and tickets will be transferred automatically to the rescheduled date. If customers are unable to attend the new date, then they will be given the option of a refund or can support The Cresset by accepting this refund in the form of a gift voucher to use for a future event.
Penny Hansen, Head of Commercial Activities at The Cresset, commented: “Cancelling performances certainly goes against our industry’s ethos of ‘the show must go on’ but at this stage, and in unprecedented circumstances, it’s the right thing for us to do. The wellbeing of our customers, staff members and communities must remain our priority. We’re devastated and apologise for the disruption being caused, but we are working very closely with all event promoters that work with us to find new performance dates.
“We ask that our local community and wonderful customers support us through this difficult time by being patient with us as we process the high volume of customer bookings and get in touch with individuals on a one-by-one basis. We very much look forward to welcoming you to The Cresset again soon!”
Ticket holders are being asked not to contact the box office directly but wait for a member of the team to be in touch in the coming days.
For private event bookings, The Cresset is offering free cancellations or the option of rescheduling for a future date. Customers are encouraged to get in touch with their contact in the events team to discuss their options.
The Fayre Spot Pub and all other shops and services within The Cresset building will remain open to customers for the foreseeable future.
