Brighouse and Rastrick at the Broadway Theatre

With an established track record of collaborating with some of the world’s foremost brass bands, including Grimethorpe Colliery Band (of Brassed Off! fame), Black Dyke Band and the Band of the Royal Air Force Regiment, the city’s award-winning choirs Peterborough Male Voice Choir, Peterborough Voices and Peterborough Youth Choir are delighted to be bringing Brighouse and Rastrick to the city to perform with them at the Broadway Theatre in March 2017.

Brighouse and Rastrick have a proud history of major championship victories including – in 1998 – the English Masters, British National and European Championships, which they held concurrently – a unique “Triple Championship” which has never been equalled!

In 2010 they won the highly competitive Yorkshire Area Championship and in 2011 were crowned “Champion Band of Great Britain” at the Royal Albert Hall. They toured the UK with folk band The Unthanks in 2011, including a live performance at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and an appearance at the Cambridge Folk Festival, and released a live album, The Unthanks with Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band in July 2012.

Among the general public Brighouse and Rastrick are perhaps most popularly known for their famous 1977 hit The Floral Dance which won both Silver and Gold Discs for massive record sales and tremendous international acclaim. In 2016 they performed the number on the BBC’s The One Show special Terry Wogan tribute episode. With their formidable reputation for highly entertaining concerts, don’t miss this opportunity to see them perform on home turf !

Brighouse and Rastrick will be at the Broadway Theatre at 7.30pm on Saturday 18th March. Tickets from £15 available from Peterborough Visitor Information Centre, on 0333 666 3366 or at www.peterboroughmvchoir.org.uk
