If you’re thinking about starting a new career or want to develop your professional knowledge but are too busy to study with a more traditional method, Peterborough and Stamford Colleges distance learning courses might be perfect for you.

Distance learning courses offer you the flexibility to study when and where you want, at a pace that suits you. They’re ideal if you prefer to learn independently and need to fit study around existing work and family commitments.

There are a huge range of courses on offer covering Health & Social Care, Childcare & Education, Business & Finance and Health & Safety, at Level 2. What’s more, the Level 2 courses are FREE*

If you have been out of education for a while and feel you need additional support to reach your full potential, don’t worry – your personal tutor can support you with anything from sentence structure to building your confidence!

So, whether you choose to study at home, a local cafe, or during your lunch break, our wide range of distance learning courses will help you to gain new qualifications and boost your career prospects.

The Level 2 distance learning courses are FREE if you meet the following eligibility criteria*:

  • You are aged 19 or over before the start of the academic year on 1 September
  • If you are aged 19+ at the start of academic year, you must hold a full Level 2 qualification or above**
  • You must have been resident in the UK for the past three whole years
  • You must live in the range of eligibility postcodes

**Examples of a full Level 2 qualification: five or more GCSE/O-levels at grades A*-C or 9-4, two to three AS-levels, five or more CSE grade 1, GNVQ Intermediate, QCF Diploma Level 2, NVQ Level 2.

These courses are part-subsidised by the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority and the Education and Skills Funding Agency so there is no cost to you or your employer, provided you complete and achieve the course within 16 weeks. Each course can be started at any time throughout the year and they can be completed at times to suit you. You can only study one course at a time.

The distance learning courses on offer cannot be funded for individuals currently on an apprenticeship. If you are on an apprenticeship, please contact the relevant college prior to making an application.
