Residents help to put Hampton in Peterborough on the map

Hampton residents are helping to put their Peterborough township on the map through an innovative new website

Just launched, the site is crowdsourcing suggestions from local people for an interactive map showing all that the Hamptons have to offer.

Already the map is a storehouse of information on clubs, groups, local services, businesses and things to do and see – with more being added all the time. As well as adding details of organisations and activities, users are able to include photos, video and weblinks.

Explained O&H Hampton General Manager Roger Tallowin, ‘The Hamptons are maturing into a sought-after place to live. Rather than build a traditional developer’s site we think the best way to tell people why they might want to come here to live or do business is to let the people of the Hamptons speak for themselves.

‘Now the interactive map is live we’re hoping as many people as possible will add the things that matter to them.’

Among the first features to appear are film of volunteers at Hampton Nature Reserve, an invitation to join the area’s Tuesday Walking Group, plus youngsters at Hampton Hargate enjoying the school’s Airport Day.

Added Roger, ‘The website and map are not only for those thinking of living or moving their home or business here. We very much hope the map will prove an invaluable resource for the rest of Peterborough and the region.

‘The Hamptons are a vibrant area with a strong sense of community and a lot going on – and the map really reflects that.’

Visitors to www.ohhampton.co.uk can also use the site to discover the story of the Hamptons, discover facilities and open spaces, find out where new homes are for sale and learn more about future plans for the area.
