Nene Valley Festival

Nene Valley Festival 2019 (NVF2019) promises to be yet another exciting year packed full of events taking place over nine days from Saturday 14 to Sunday 22 September

Celebrating the natural and historic assets of this beautiful landscape, NVF2019 will include events taking place at a variety of venues along the River Nene from Northampton to Peterborough and will aim to inspire more people to connect with wildlife and heritage of the Nene Valley. The programme has been designed to offer something for everyone to enjoy, whether you are interested in cultural heritage, local history, archaeology, food and drink, the arts or leisure activities.

With heritage being the main focus of this year, NVF2019 will kick start on Saturday 14 September from 10am at Cathedral Square in Peterborough, with a vast range of activities as part of the Peterborough Heritage Open Days Weekend.

Our finale will be hosted at Stanwick Lakes on Sunday 22 September from 10.30am with a ‘Come Meet the Settlers’ event, where visitors can learnmore about the settlers of the Nene Valley from the Neolithic period through to the Medieval era. Visitors will be able to experience first-hand how people lived and worked by taking part in pottery, cookery, archaeology, archery, trails and more!
