Green Festival 2014

The Green Festival returns this year running from Saturday, 24 May – Sunday, 1 June

On the Festival launch day, Saturday, 24 May, Cathedral Square in Peterborough city centre will be transformed ready for the launch of the Green Festival 2014. Visit the circus tent where you’ll find an old fashioned arcade full of eco-friendly games inspired by the city’s Green Wheel network of cycleways. Try your hand at the coconut shy, hook-a-duck or hoopla and you could win yourself a brand new bike.

With something for all ages, most Green Festival events are completely free to attend. There are events being held all over the city with tree climbing at Ferry Meadows at 11 am on Tuesday, 27 May, a bike ride in the Ortons with Sustrans at 1 pm on Saturday, 31 May, and a picnic at the Green Backyard on Oundle Road at noon on Sunday, 1 June.

This year’s event aims to help get people walking, cycling and using the bus. It’s organised by environmental charity Peterborough Environment City Trust (PECT) and is being supported by Peterborough City Council’s Travelchoice.
