Grant Funding for your energy bills
Stay Well This Winter is a grant programme designed to support both individuals and families living in Peterborough and facing fuel poverty through the award of funds to support heating costs.
Cold weather can affect health, with these conditions associated with an increase in injuries and illnesses such as heart attacks, strokes and pneumonia. It can be particularly harmful to those who are older or have a long-term health condition such as heart, lung and kidney problems.
Citizens Advice Peterborough has been administrating the Stay Well This Winter grant programme and there are still funds available for grant contributions of either £150 or £300 (depending on the number of people in your home).
To be eligible for funds you must be one of:
- Over 65 years of age
- Have a disability or cold-related illness
And one of:
- In receipt of any means-tested benefit
- Have a family income below £21,000 a year
- Have little or no savings
If you believe you are eligible then please come in to our main office or visit us at one of our outreach locations and please bring along a copy of your latest energy bill!
If you are not eligible, there may be other help available. See the Citizens Advice website for more details. Visit www.citizensadvice.org.uk and search ‘Grants’.
