Firewalk, with me?

This is exactly the question bold BGL employee Clare Ledbury is asking readers of The Moment online – she needs 15 plucky souls to join her on a firewalk on Friday, 2 May at The Whittle Way pub, Stanground, to raise money for a school-building project in Zambia

Clare explains, ‘I’m currently fundraising with 20 others for a charity called Build It International. On Friday, 16 May, we are travelling to Zambia to build a new school there, but we each have to raise £3,500 first. So, as part of this fundraising, my colleague Richard and I are hosting a firewalk on Friday, 2 May at The Whittle Way pub in Stanground.’

In order for the firewalk to go ahead, Clare and Richard need a minimum of 15 people to sign up to take part, and participants need to raise a minimum of £100 sponsorship which will be split between Build It International and a charity which runs the firewalk called Little Heroes.

Do YOU feel brave enough to take on this classic challenge, whilst raising money for such a good cause? The evening promises to be an unforgettable experience, full of fun and excitement, and offering the chance to try something very different that you’ll be boasting about for months afterwards!

The firewalking will commence at 9 pm. On the night there will be other entertainment such as glass walking, a raffle and an auction with some great prizes up for grabs.

People wishing to sign up to the firewalk can contact Clare at or on 07732 851089.
