Could YOU be Woven Chords’ new Musical Director?

Woven Chords is a vibrant, friendly natural voice community choir of about 70 women and men who have been singing out of Stamford for twenty years, with weekly Thursday evening rehearsals at Stamford Arts Centre during term time for two hours

Our current leader, Abi Moore, is sadly leaving us in the New Year and we need another one! Otherwise lots of people in the local community will be bereft. Although we are based in Stamford lots of our members come from Peterborough and surrounding areas. We are an open access choir – we don’t audition, and as you are aware singing in a choir has recently been shown to have many health benefits, and we desperately want it to continue.

A nationwide following

We have entertained the local population with our regular concerts of world music and have built a great reputation and a loyal following. (We have held concerts in a variety of venues, from Stamford Arts Centre, Grimsthorpe Castle, the Guildhall Arts Centre, local churches and even the South Bank Centre in London! We also sang several times to accompany the progress of the Olympic Flame and have been invited to sing at a number of weddings.)

Carry the flame…

We have been most fortunate to be taught by excellent, committed musical directors, all of whom have offered us slightly different, but equally enjoyable challenges in their style and choice of songs to learn, all of which demonstrates our flexibility and open mindedness.
We now have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, energetic teacher of music, who loves teaching in a fun way to pick up the reins from January 2107.
