Peterborough BID appoints Business Improvement Manager

The Peterborough Positive Board has appointed Pep Cipriano as the BID’s Business Improvement Manager after a stringent recruitment process. The Board were looking for an individual with great knowledge of and love for Peterborough, and Pep Cipriano was a clear choice for the role which makes him the ‘face of the BID’ in the city

Peterborough PositivePep’s first task as Business Improvement Manager will be to begin building his team to support with the BID’s day-to-day activities. In a few weeks the BID will be based out of its new city centre office at Queensgate’s Westgate Arcade which is where Pep will work from.

A well-known representative of the city, Pep is an award-winning communicator with over two decades’ experience, who has previously worked as Marketing Manager at the City Council, City College and City Culture Peterborough. His experience in campaign, event and project management and stakeholder management skills will be invaluable to the BID.

Pep Cipriano said of his new role: ‘It’s a privilege to become a part of Peterborough’s future through the BID. I’m passionate about the city, having lived here all my life, and know it’s time to create some real positive changes for our people. I can’t wait to get started and get to know the business owners in the centre, as they are the BID’s key stakeholders. Together we can promote the city centre as a fantastic place for local residents and visitors to spend time in and have a positive experience.’

Mark Broadhead, Chair of Peterborough Positive, said: ‘Yesterday was a huge day for Peterborough and the BID as Pep joined us to take control of the implementation of the initiatives set out in our Business Plan. Pep was a standout candidate with such a strong connection to the city and the skills to take the BID forward for the next five years to ensure it is as impactful as possible.’

Peterborough Positive is getting everything in place to start delivering results over its five-year term, with the appointment of the Business Improvement Manager marking the start of its on-the-ground activities.
