Linfords – the best fish and chips!
Linfords Traditional Fish & Chips has a reputation for exceptional quality food, great value and friendly service. It’s a winning combination
Linfords Traditional Fish & Chips in Market Deeping has been serving up award-winning fish and chips for three decades. Over the years they’ve reached the finals of The National Fish and Chip Awards no fewer than five times, maintained a top five-star food hygiene rating and remain the proud holders of the National Federation of Fish Friers Quality Award, the only fish and chip shop in the Deepings to hold this prestigious title. Visitors can choose to takeaway or sit in the licensed restaurant next door, where table service and a relaxed, contemporary atmosphere make for a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience.
For warmer days there’s the stone-walled courtyard to soak up the sunshine as you dine al fresco. But what about the food? The team at Linfords is committed to cooking only the highest-quality sustainably sourced fish. Choose from cod, haddock, place and huss, cooked to your preference in a traditional light, golden crispy batter, or simply floured for fewer calories but the same sensational succulence. Those with an eye on their post-Christmas bellies can also opt for steamed fish, served with salad in place of chips for a delicious yet low-fat meal. All fish is sourced from just two boats whose fishermen harvest the seas with the long-term survival of fish stocks in mind. Smaller fish – the next generation – can escape the nets, so that only larger fish remain. These are then fileted and cut to size on site.
Other items on the menu include favourites such as scampi, fish cakes, chicken and burgers, sausages and spring rolls. Serve them up with the likes of peas, onion rings, beans and Linfords’ perfectly crisp-on-the-outside, fluffyon- the-inside chips. Those looking to remove gluten from their diets can take advantage of their gluten-free Monday evening service, which runs alongside (though completely separate from) the traditional service. Recent additions include light-bite lunches, comprising a five to six-ounce piece of cod served with half a portion of chips, perfect for those wanting something lighter or so that those returning to the office after lunch needn’t suffer the dreaded post-lunch slump!
Linfords has also reduced its plastic footprint, replacing polystyrene pea pots with recyclable pots, and plastic forks with wooden alternatives. If you have never been to Linfords then it’s time you paid a visit. Expect a warm and friendly welcome, an exceptional level of service and, of course, deeply satisfying food that will turn you from a first-timer to a regular.
