Law firm’s marathon walk raises £5,000 for local charity

Hegarty Solicitors are proud to have raised £5000 for For Rutland, their charity of the year last year. The firm raised money through charity events at their offices in Peterborough, Stamford and Oakham throughout the year, as well as a mammoth sponsored walk in which over 25 partners and staff embarked on a 34 mile marathon walk from Peterborough to Oakham via Stamford on 9th June 2018.

Staff members started the walk at the Hegarty Solicitors office in Peterborough and made their way to the Hegarty Solicitors Stamford office, covering 17 miles. Walkers then continued a further 17 miles to the finish line at the Hegarty Solicitors office in Oakham. The walk was 8 miles longer than a marathon and took over 12 hours to complete!

For Rutland is a charity that raises donations for specialist advisors, based at Citizens Advice, that provide free, confidential and non-medical advice to people of all ages living with long term health conditions in Rutland and the surrounding area.

Kally Singh, Partner and Catherine Fitches, Case Handler at Hegarty Solicitors who both took part in the walk proudly presented a cheque to Trish Ruddle, Caroline Hammond and Elizabeth Mills, all representatives of the fundraising committee for For Rutland. Hegarty Solicitors will also be supporting the For Rutland Good and New sale for a second year and this will take place on Friday 1st March and Saturday 2nd March at the Barnsdale Lodge Hotel.
