Replica Sonic Screwdriver to launch this month

An authentic Tenth Doctor’s Sonic Screwdriver Remote Control will be launched at San Diego Comic-Con this month by Cambridgeshire-based The Wand Company

The 1:1 replica has been 3D scanned from the original screen-prop, loaned to The Wand Company by David Tennant himself. The gadget, which has been officially licensed from BBC Worldwide, is an advanced, gesture-based remote control that can be programmed to use with virtually all home entertainment systems such as iPod docks, TVs and Blu-ray players. It comes with built-in rechargeable batteries, authentic sound effects and more, and will retail at £69.96.

The Wand Company was established in 2009 by entrepreneurs and inventors Chris Barnardo and Richard Blakesley. Its first product, the Kymera Magic Wand, has sold over 125,000 units in 81 countries worldwide.
