Queensgate Continues to Attract Investment

Queensgate shopping centre has continued to go from strength to strength following its 30th birthday earlier this year, attracting a host of national brands to invest

So far, 2012 has seen the arrival of major fashion brands, including shoe maestros Office and high street favourite BANK. Gadget stores Jessops and Red5 have also chosen to open stores in Queensgate this year and the arrival of Auntie Anne’s soft pretzel eatery has brought another welcome flavour to the centre. In addition, many other existing stores have undergone refurbishments, including Top Shop, Claire’s Accessories and Costa Coffee, helping to establish Queensgate as the number one modern shopping destination.

The excitement continues with the hotly anticipated arrival of Primark, which will have its grand opening in November, plus the arrival of Italian food chain Carluccio’s in Cathedral Square.

Sam Eastwood, centre director at Queensgate commented

As Peterborough was recently named one of the safest towns to invest in a recent Retail Risk report by Shopping Centre magazine, it is no wonder that so many recognisable and established brands are showing such confidence in Queensgate. The retail environment is fast-paced and ever-changing and, as a centre not content to rest on its laurels, we work tirelessly to expand our offer to give shoppers a wealth of stores to choose from and keep them coming back
