Roythornes Solicitors will be hosting a free breakfast seminar to discuss credit management on Thursday 1 November at the Spalding office

The aim is twofold. The first part is about letting businesses know what their options are when an invoice isn’t paid, but also, and absolutely critically, it will be about how to avoid this situation in the first place. So things like tightening up your terms and conditions and also knowing who you’re trading with
The event will consist of a talk from the firm’s debt recovery specialists on the legal options available in different situations, with case studies to help illustrate the more technical jargon. There will also be an opportunity for questions, plus one-on-one time after the seminar for more personalised advice.
Thirty businesses have already signed up to take advantage of the free guidance, with a broad spectrum from veterinary practices to debt collection agencies.
This issue really does affect everyone, although probably more so for SME’s, as larger companies tend to have credit departments to handle this kind of thing. It’s a consistent issue, but I think with the current economy being tighter, people are a bit slow to pay, so weaknesses are being highlighted
