Devines Deli opens in Oundle

A new family-run delicatessen offering the “best of British produce” has opened in Oundle

Devines Deli will be tempting customers with a wide selection of meats, cheeses, bread and cakes as well as English wines, beer and cider. The business is run by Emma Turner, who left a career in banking to pursue her passion for food, alongside her mother Marina and other family members.

Emma said:

I’ve always been a massive foodie and it’s been a dream of mine to be able to do something like this and showcase the phenomenal produce made in the UK by artisan suppliers

Prior to opening the deli, Emma spent six months scouring the country for the best produce at various trade shows, fairs and events. One of the products she is particularly excited about is the dairy and gluten free chocolate from “The Chocolatier”:

We are the only stockists outside of London and it’s been all over the international press lately. It’s made with water ganache rather than butter and cream, so it’s dairy free, gluten free and better quality than regular chocolate

Devines Deli is also passionate about supporting the local economy, as Emma explains:

We do everything we can to support the local high street as much as possible. For example, we use hand-made bread from The Small Bread Company in Barnwell, our greengrocer produce comes from Normans, and our meat is from Seven Wells

In addition to stocking the shelves with delicious ingredients, the deli also prepares a range of salads and sandwiches for breakfast and lunch take-out options.

The deli was officially opened by the Mayor of Oundle on 16 June.
