Corporate Social Responsibility Week

Peterborough’s CSR network, Side by Side, will be hosting a ‘Corporate Social Responsibility Week’ from 4 – 9 November

The aim of the week is to raise awareness of the many CSR projects running in Peterborough and to encourage businesses to take part in supporting them.

Part of the week will focus on inviting volunteers to provide ‘hands on’ support for projects such as Railworld (a voluntary run transport and environmental centre) and New Ark (a community based project to provide children with a safe adventure playground, eco garden and city farm). Side by Side will also be hosting morning workshops on Tuesday, 5 and Thursday, 7 November, where local business experts are invited to help projects, by sharing tips and advice on a range of topics from marketing to logistics.

The third element of the week will focus on a big drive for Foodbank, a local charity that collects food and distributes it to those in need.

Suzie Baird, Side by Side co-ordinator, said, ‘We know it’s a busy time of year for companies and so we are hoping this is a way they can still get involved and encourage their employees to bring in food from a shopping list we’ve been given for Foodbank.’
