Cleantech Project Announces Latest Event

Peterborough is one of the partners involved in innovative EU project The Cleantech Incubation Europe (CIE)

Funded by INTERREG IVC, the project aims to accelerate economic growth in the clean technology sector. Environmental business is an area that Peterborough has considerable expertise and track record in.

CIE has just announced its latest project event which will take place in Turin, Italy from 24th to 25th January 2013. The event will focus on building the cleantech incubation stakeholders’ network. This event will be followed by an event in Peterborough in June this year.

This ambitious and forward-thinking project facilitates the exchange of international best practice, policy development and experiences around cleantech incubation to improve the conditions for sector growth. Local authorities, cleantech incubator operators, universities, start-ups and businesses are invited to share their thoughts at this upcoming event.

Day one is open to all delegates interested in cleantech incubation and will kick-off with a project overview and update. Seminars will then commence and a range of specialists will lead the sessions. The focus will be on policy makers from a national to local level, infrastructures and tools, as well as start-ups and companies. All delegates will also have the opportunity to join a site visit to EnviPark, which is a successful local business incubator.

The second day contains meetings and intense workshops for the CIE partners and invited external experts. Clusters from across Europe will give presentations, which will then be discussed in detail. The team will also investigate the theme of how regional policy can match the specific elements of cleantech incubators.
