NHS Cambridgeshire and NHS Peterborough primary care trust has purchased 28 iPads for senior employees as part of a continued efficiency drive
The tablet computers from Apple were purchased for £10,080 (£360 each) with the intention of cutting down on the costs of paper and printing. It is anticipated that the move will save £6,000 a year.
Dr Sushil Jathanna, chief executive, said:
NHS Cambridgeshire and NHS Peterborough have purchased 28 iPads for senior managers and clinicians in the organisation as a way of reducing the cost and staff time required in printing lengthy papers for meetings. It also makes it easier for senior managers to access information
