Wartime Peterborough Tour

Sun 29th July 2012 2:00 pm - 3:45 pm

Follow your very own ARP warden round the streets of Peterborough city centre and discover some unlikely tales about the city during the two world wars.

You will hear about the servicemen from the area and the units they fought in – including in World War I a regiment armed with bicycles  – and which top Nazi had his eye on Burghley House to become his new home, along with lots of other fascinating and surreal stories from this period in history.

The tour starts from outside Peterborough Museum. Tickets can be pre-bought from the Destination Centre, or bought on the day from the tour guide.
