Remembering the Sacrifice: an exhibition by Laurie Barnard

Sat 29th November 2014 12:00 am

Born three years after the end of World War One, Laurie has childhood memories of the people around him talking of ‘The War To End All Wars’.

In his new exhibition ‘Remembering the Sacrifice…one man’s memorial to the British soldiers of World War One’, Laurie has attempted to capture, through sculpture, paint and poetry, a little of the experiences of those who fought.

Laurie studied at Camberwell Art College, became a renowned puppeteer, maker of marionettes in wood, has written poetry, worked as a professional designer, and painted in most mediums.
