What's On

Peterborough Low Vision Day

Fri 21st September 2018 10:30 am - 3:30 pm

The Low Vision Event has something for everyone to help you get out and about and live your life independently. Whether you’re a person who is experiencing sight difficulties, a carer, a family member or a parent or guardian of a child or young person with sight loss come along and find out more from over 20 exhibitors demonstrating low vision aids, technology and services enabling you to live the life you want to.

Keeping healthy physically and mentally is so important to quality of life, and medication can’t always help. We will have taster sessions in Yoga, Archery (Invictus Bowmen CAA) and why not come and try your hand at diamond painting – you never know you may like it!

Guide Dogs will run two guide dog training sessions, they will also demonstrate how a long cane can help you navigate the external environment safely and show you how to guide safely.

Refreshments and light snacks will be available. Deaf Blind UK is on a regular bus route Citibus 6 from Queensgate bus station. We will also run a regular courtesy mini bus from Peterborough Queensgate Bus Depot in Westgate from 10am.
