Rockingham around the Christmas tree?
A Victorian Christmas at a Norman castle? Well, why the heck not? The Victorians invented Christmas (well, pretty much anyway) so spend a cosy hour or two at one of the region’s most majestic locations, enjoying mince pies, lashings of Christmas trees, Victorian costumed characters giving guided tours, and general lovely sumptiousness. God bless us, every one!

Never was there a story of more woe…
Live ballet is such a treat, given that the core appeal – the athleticism, vibrancy and exhilaration – is often lost when watched on film or TV; Ballet Cymru’s production of Romeo and Juliet is no exception. Prokofiev’s score is close to perfection, and, for those still wondering if it’s really for you, there are loads of bits of music you’ll recognise, and the excitement, emotion and drama of the story is really ramped up to 11. One of the most accessible and exciting ballets in the classical repertoire.

Another big treat for little ones
They’ve been along to the library for the reading session of The Snail and the Whale – now your kids can see the characters and story live on stage! Nothing is more exciting for little ones than to see characters they feel they know from a storybook come vividly to life. Join Tall Stories theatre company for the tale of the globe-trotting snail and her friend, the humpback whale.
