The Music Industry Takeover Day at The Key Theatre

The Music Industry Takeover Day will link successful industry influencers with creative young people

It will take the form of an action packed Industry Conference Day and is aimed at 14- to 25-year-olds. The day will consist of panel discussions, practical workshops, seminars and performances where young people will be able to talk to professionals working at the top of the field about what it takes to make it in this tough industry.

It will be an opportunity for participants to gain a better understanding of the music business and access accurate information about working in the music industry and the range of careers that are available.

The event will ensure that young people in Peterborough have the best access to advice and guidance to help them make the best choices and look at what may be available in their own region.

Both Vivacity and Peterborough Music Partnership are keen that by working with partners, jobs in the creative industries can be accessed through paid apprenticeships and internships within the city. Peterborough Regional College and Stamford College will be on hand with course information.

Vivacity has internships within Creative People and Places and is also planning to forge stronger links with the National skills Academy. Peterborough Regional College is rolling out the creative apprenticeship scheme.

The Music Industry Organisations attending are BPI, Music Manager Forum (MMF), PRS and MU.
