Mr. and Rev. lead Peterborough Symphony Orchestra!

live music peterborough

A husband and wife will play significant roles in the spring concert from the City of Peterborough Symphony Orchestra on Sunday, 1 March

The orchestra will be conducted by Steve Bingham and a viola solo will be played by his wife Brenda Stewart – who is also a rector of seven rural parishes in west Cambridgeshire, having been ordained as a priest five years ago. It is not unusual for them to be on the same platform because Brenda has been violinist for the Bingham String Quartet since it was established 30 years ago.

The programme includes the viola solo from the Berlioz symphony Harold in Italy, Gershwin’s An American in Paris (including the famous taxi horns) and Rossini’s sparkling and witty overture, Italian Girl in Algiers.

The concert is on Sunday, 1 March at the home of the orchestra, The Voyager Academy, Mountsteven Avenue, Walton, between 3 pm and 5 pm. Tickets are £10.50 (concessions) and £12.50, with school children free. Further information from www.cpso.org.uk

The concert is sponsored by business advisors V&A Vigar & Co.
